Who am I?
Hello, hi!
I’m Lizzie.
I’m a trauma-informed, person-centred therapist working with clients across the UK online, or with clients in a confidential space in person in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
I am a member of the BACP. Before working in private practice, I trained in sexual violence while working alongside different counselling agencies. This taught me to be trauma-informed and how to hold people in what they are carrying while also keeping them safe in the session.
My approach to your sessions is to take things at your pace and to meet you where you are. I like to slow things down wherever possible in order to pay attention to what is happening for you and how things are showing up for you.
I absolutely do not put labels on things, but will meet you in your journey to diagnosis if that is where you are.
Many clients have found a shift begin to happen in themselves within the calm, non-judgemental acceptance that they find in our sessions, and have found just how unburdened they feel once they start sharing what they’re carrying around with them.
Qualifications
I believe that the first thing you should check when choosing a person to talk to is their qualifications to make sure they are who they say on the tin.
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (CPCAB). I specifically trained in person-centred counselling. On top of this, I am also a member of the BACP.
I also undertook intensive trauma informed training with SAASSBMK.
